Our Story
4WD Camper Hire was born from a simple frustration: finding a well-equipped, reliable 4WD camper in Perth that did not cost a fortune or come with a list of hidden fees.
After years of building and refining vehicle setups for personal use, founder Dorian Menard started offering his premium KGM 4WD builds to travellers in 2021. The response was immediate — visitors flying into Perth for WA road trips wanted exactly what Dorian had built: comfortable, self-sufficient vehicles with transparent pricing and genuine local knowledge.
Today, every vehicle in our fleet is personally built and maintained by Dorian. We know every bolt, every circuit, and every piece of camping gear because we use them ourselves. When you hire from us, you are getting the same setup we would take on our own road trips.

Dorian has been living in Perth for over 14 years and has spent that time testing, refining, and perfecting road trip vehicle setups across Australia. From the South West forests to the Coral Coast, from Esperance to the Kimberley — Dorian has driven it all and knows exactly what works.
Every vehicle in the 4WD Camper Hire fleet is personally built and maintained by Dorian. When you have questions about routes, camping spots, or vehicle systems, you are talking to the person who built your vehicle and has driven those roads dozens of times.

We run a small fleet by choice. Every vehicle is meticulously maintained and regularly upgraded. We would rather hire fewer vehicles at a higher standard than cut corners to scale.
